Parish Council - Legal

The Parish Council consist of the chairman and councillors (or members).  It is a body corporate and as such is distinct from its members and has its own legal identity.  The Parish Council has Powers and Duties all of which are governed by various Acts of Parliament.  The duties are those things which the Council must do, powers are those things the Council may do if it chooses.
